Jobs for a Scuba instructorCurrently on the PADI job board there are 263 Scuba Instructor job vacancies. 45 of those are in NZ & Australia. There are plenty of jobs - you just need to have the right attitude and go get em'!

Salary of a Scuba instructorThe salary ranges depending if you are working full time or on contract. However, after you graduate you could expect $24-26 / hr. After you gain real life experience this will rise. You can also add strings to your bow life tank testing, servicing, skipper and this can increase your salary.

Day in the lifeTeaching people to dive is one of the most rewarding things you will ever do. Opening their eyes to the underwater world and teaching them to blow bubble for the first time is the best feeling in the world! You'll do it all from instructing beginner to dive master courses, to retail shop work. No day will be the same as the last.

Course informationThe course take 40 weeks (with 4 weeks study leave). Course dates are Monday - Thursday 9am-4pm. We have 2x courses each year, one starting in February and one in August.

Course FeesTo become an instructor you need 100+ Dives under your belt. Usually a day of diving would cost you between $200-300, meaning it could cost you $30k elsewhere! To do the course with us the cost is $18,900. This covers 100+ dives, all of your certification costs, 3x away trips diving in other locations around the country.

Fees Free and StudylinkIf you are a school leaver, or have never studied at tertiary level before - you may be eligible for $12,000 of fees free money to go towards your course fees. You can also apply for a student loan for our course. You may also be eligible for a student allowance and course related costs to help with fees.
