PADI Advanced Diver Course
Ready for the next step? The PADI Advance course will help you level up.
The Advanced Open Water Course builds diving confidence, teaches you new skills and takes you to new depths. Similar to the PADI Open Water course, there is some online leaning to complete before the course. We then complete 5x ocean dives over 2 days of practical training.
The 5 dives include; Deep Dive, Wreck Dive, Underwater Navigation, Peak Performance Buoyancy and Search and Recovery. If there are other dives that you would like to do i.e. a Night dive we can look at arranging this into your course as well.
September - 25th & 26th
October - 23rd & 24th
November - 27th & 28th
December - 4th & 5th
Let us know when suits your schedule and we can arrange a course.
Age: The minimum age is 14 for the PADI Open Water Diver Course. (Contact us about a Junior Open Water Course)
Medical History: All Divers are required to complete an RSTC Medical Form. If you answer YES to any of the questions on the form, as a precaution you will need to get signed off from a Doctor to say you are fit to dive.
Diving Proficiency: You must have completed the PADI Open Water Course before attending this course. if you have not dived in 6 months or have not dived with us previously we require you to come in before the course starts to have a chat about your diving confidence.
Equipment: As a minimum we require you have your own mask and snorkel for the course. We then provide all of the rest of the gear for the course that you will need this includes; Wetsuit (7mm), Scuba Diving Fins, Weight Belt, Boots, Safety Sausage, BCD, Regulators, Computer. While we provide this gear for you, we do strongly recommend having your own gear so you are more comfortable. We stock a wide range of scuba gear in store and your instructor can help you choose the best gear for your diving needs.
Your online theory must be completed independently in our digital classroom before you arrive for your first pool session. This can even be completed on your smart phone. We also have computers available in store to complete the online learning if you need. If you have any problems or need help with this, we are always on the end of the phone.
We cover the 5x dives over 2 days depending on the weather this is usually runs:
Day 1: Matauri beach shore dives, will usually cover the Underwater Navigation, Peak Performance Buoyancy and Search and Recovery. Arrive at the shop about 9am and we take our vans to the dive site. Bring lunch with you both days.
Day 2: We head out on the boat to Deep Water Cove where we will Dive the outstanding wreck of the HMNZS Canterbury and complete our deep dive as well. Deep Water Cover has a Marine Rahui over the cove, this mean No-take, so the whole dive site is full of friendly marine life.
