About Dive Zone Bay of Islands - Est 2004
Local divers, local knowledge
We are a family-run PADI 5-Star dive centre in Waipapa, Kerikeri - teaching, guiding and servicing gear for the Bay of Islands diving community for the last 20 years. We are local, proud and go above and beyond for our divers, because we love great diving too.
Kia ora, Meet the team
The crew behind your dives

Ben Taylor
Owner, Course Director, Freedive Instructor
Ben is a true jack-of-all-trades around the shop. When he’s not running an IDC or taking crew out on the water, he’s head-first in the workshop keeping your regs.

COrinna Rihari-Allen
Senior Scuba Instructor & Tank Tester
Corinna manages our Diploma and school programmes. With a deep love for the moana and a fun, relaxed teaching style, Coinna trains confident, happy divers.

Connor WIlson
PADI Instructor, Skipper & Service Technician
Connor switches between skippering the boat, training divers & servicing regs. He’s all about good vibes, great dives, and making sure your gear is sorted for an epic day out.

Headshot
Maia Brooke
PADI Instructor & Marketing Manager
Maia wears plenty of hats around here, handling booking admin while also instructing. She snaps stunning underwater photos, that you can see on our socials.

COlin Wadeson
PADI Instructor
Colin keeps things sweet and effortless as he introduces divers to our underwater backyard. He's always keen for a yarn and has an uncanny knack for spotting the secret marine locals on every dive.

Alice Broomfield
Owner & Administration
As co-owner & the administrative heart of the business, Alice keeps the whole operation ticking along like clockwork behind the scenes. (currently on maternity leave)

Kelly Weeden
DZBOI Founder (2004)
A legendary previous owner, Kelly is now a PADI examiner travelling the world. He still pops in to share his vast knowledge & classic dive yarns with the crew.

Blake Dodson
The original service technician
Blake laid the groundwork for our workshop standards. His knack for gear maintenance set the benchmark to keep every diver safe out on the water. We also love his sarcastic one-liners.
