PADI Basic Freediver course
What you Learn
The PADI Basic Freediver course consists of three main sections:
- Online Knowledge development to understand freedive principles.
- Confined water training in a pool to practice correct technique.
- Open water dives to put your new skills into practice.
To enroll in a PADI Basic Freediver course you must be 12 years old or older. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with snorkeling, skin diving or freediving is required.
The Fun Part
It is amazing what your body is capable of and this course will truly make you discover new limits.
with the PADI Basic Freediver course you will take the first step for developing solid freediving skills. You learn basic freediving principles and focus on practicing breathhold techniques in a pool or confined water site then take it out to the beautiful blue and discover the joy of being one with the underwater world.
The Equipment You Will Use
In the PADI Basic Freediver course, you learn to use a mask, snorkel and fins, and may also use a wetsuit and weight belt. Using gear designed specifically for freediving is best, however, in this course, you may be able to use snorkeling equipment you already own. Here at Dive Zone Bay of Islands we have freedive equipment for use on the course so you get an all round experience.
